What is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone says “PHARMACIST”??

And now in your imagination, you see a person in a pharmacy store, interpreting a prescription with his exceptional skills and dispensing the right list of medicines.

And then you think, who would want to spend the rest of their lives counting pills!

Barbra Streisand says “Myths are a waste of time. They prevent progression.”

By all means, this is true and there is a need to erase this MYTH from people’s beliefs that pharmacy is not just about “counting the pills”! There are innumerable career paths within the field of pharmacy and thus whatever you want to do, you can do it!

The scope of pharmacy has broadened its horizon far beyond the presumptions you have in your mind. We should not forget that amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, pharmacists are going out of their way to serve the people. They are the ones who have remained on the frontlines to ensure public health. They are the ones who are in the R&D setting making vaccines for you. They are the ones who are bringing care to the patient’s doorstep.

A pharmacist can work at a Retail store or in a Hospital, can work as a Pharmaceutical Scientist or an Entrepreneur, can get into Teaching or Medical writing, can become a Marketing Specialist or Drug Inspector. It all depends on what interests those pharmacy graduates.

Now, I hope you realize the fact that a pharmacist is not only supposed to sell the drugs but comprises of various other roles in this profession.

Let’s evolve our mindsets with this frequently evolving profession!

And feel free to share your views with me!
